Police investigating the disappearance of a 28-year-old who vanished while camping with pals are appealing to a man seen walking in the area to get in touch.
Officers believe the unknown individual could help them with their inquiries into the fate of Reece Rodger who was last seen on the north shore of Loch Rannoch, east of Killichonan – around 25 miles to the west of Pitlochry – at 11.30pm on Saturday March 18. Friends believed the 28-year-old had been heading to bed when they last saw him, but he was nowhere to be found on Sunday morning.
Concerns are growing for the welfare of Reece, from Rosyth in Fife, and five days on from his disappearance police are pursuing a new lead. They believe a man who was seen walking on a nearby road around the time Reece disappeared could help with their inquiries.
The person of interest is described as being of slim build and around 5ft 9ins in height, and was walking on the road between Learan Farm and Aulich, on the northern edge of Loch Rannoch at around 11.30pm on Saturday March 18. Police say he was wearing dark clothing, and have asked him to get in touch.
Reece is described as 6ft tall, of medium build with dark hair. When last seen he was wearing a black long-sleeved t-shirt with distinctive white letters on both sleeves spelling out "MA.STRUM" along with black jogging bottoms and black wellington boots.
Officers have previously expressed concern because he was not dressed for the weather and is not believed to have been familiar with the area.
Sergeant James Longden, of Pitlochry police station, said on Thursday: “The area where Reece was last seen is wooded and he was not familiar with the landscape and may have become lost or taken a lift somewhere. We are asking anyone camping
