An Academy Award winner might be joining the ranks of the “Jurassic World” franchise. According to various trade reports, two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (who won Academy prizes for “Moonlight” and “Green Book”) is in talks to join the untitled “Jurassic World” film due in the summer of 2025.

Scarlett Johansson has claimed OpenAI has used a similar voice to hers for ChatGPT, after she denied an offer to collaborate with them in the past.Johansson has claimed the company used her voice to create one if its ‘Voice Mode’ options, even after she declined an invitation from the company’s CEO, Sam Altman.In a statement shared on Monday (May 20), Johansson claimed that Altman sought to “hire” her “to voice the current ChatGPT 4.0 system,” saying that she “could bridge the gap between tech companies and creatives and help consumers to feel comfortable with the seismic shift concerning humans and AI.”Johansson declined the offer but when a new voice option named “Sky” arrived recently, Johansson claimed her family and friends contacted her commenting on the similarity of the voices.Her statement read: “My friends, family and the general public all noted how much the newest system named ‘Sky’ sounded like me.“When I heard the released demo, I was shocked, angered and in disbelief that Mr. Altman would pursue a voice that sounded so eerily similar to mine that my closest friends and news outlets could not tell the difference.

Johansson, in a statement provided to Variety, said her lawyers contacted OpenAI to have the voice of Sky, one of the new voices in the GPT-4o conversational chatbot release, pulled down. OpenAI introduced the Sky voice, which sounded very like that of Johansson’s disembodied AI companion in Spike Jonze’s 2013 movie “Her.” The company on Monday said it would “pause” the use of the Sky voice, and said the voice was supplied by another actor.
