Saturday Night Live New This Weekend?

Before they were household names and Oscar-nominated A-listers, actors like Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie graced TV screens on a weekly basis when they appeared on iconic soap operas! A number of Hollywood celebs, who now star on the big screen, actually got their first big break in the industry by starting on the small screen. These performers left a major impression on the world of soap operas that sky rocketed them into super stardom.

To mark Mother’s Day this weekend,  Angelina Jolie  wrote a personal op-ed for The New York Times where she opened up about losing her mom Marcheline Bertrand to ovarian cancer and her role as a mother to Knox, Vivienne, Pax, Shiloh, Maddox and Zahara with  Brad Pitt . “I lost my mother in my thirties,” the 44-year-old wrote.

Saturday Night Live returned with a new episode on Saturday, April 25. The episode was SNL's second remotely produced installment to air after the series went on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic and resulting production shutdowns. SNL took a page from the playbook of other late-night TV shows and improvised with its "SNL at Home" styling, which featured remotely produced sketches while the cast and crew practiced social distancing.

Admit it, everyone's played the game where they pick which celebrity they'd want to play them in an adaptation of their life, but for Dr. Anthony Fauci, it actually came true when Brad Pitt portrayed him on the cold open for Saturday Night Live's latest remotely produced episode. Naturally, someone had to find out how Fauci thought Pitt did, and it turns out (phew) he loved it.

The return of “Saturday Night Live At Home” two weeks after its historical remote episode came as a bit of a surprise. NBC announced this week’s show just Thursday, despite a track record of advertising upcoming episodes far earlier in normal times. But, as if anyone needs to say it at this point, times are anything but normal.

“Saturday Night Live” brought some real star power to the second “At Home” special over the weekend, tapping Brad Pitt to kick open the show, while making his first “SNL” appearance in over 20 years.

Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, Paul Rudd, and many other stars united virtually for the Saturday Night Live: At Home. The episode unleashed a lot of fun in the form of fun cameos and guest appearances by several stars. From Paul Rudd playing himself having an awkward FaceTime chat with his cousin to Adam Sandler recording verses for a quarantine tune from Pete Davidson, Bad Bunny playing a man who sells giant cooking pots and more, the show was a total hit.
