Squeeze, the upcoming sophomore project from L.A.-based alt-rocker SASAMI, is gearing up to be a collection of exciting outliers. For example, the album's tracklist contains both the grinding nu-metal of "Say It" as well as "Sorry Entertainer," a demented garage rock-ified stomper with a prominent interpolation of the classic staple "Peter Gunn Theme." SASAMI is out today with another unlikely sibling, "Call Me Home." The track begins with a desolate ambient introduction reminiscent of Joy Division before transitioning into a psychedelic folk ballad.
As SASAMI wrote in a press statement, there's a deep and well-earned hope at the song's core. “'Call Me Home' is dedicated to anyone who has blown up their life just to remember what it’s like to feel something.
It’s about the darkness of feeling nothing and the creeping ache of apathy that can swallow you whole if you let it. It’s about skipping town, driving all night and knowing you’ll always have a home to come back to." Read Next: 10 songs you need in your life this week
