Fitch Ratings on Wednesday downgraded the credit rating for The Walt Disney Company over how the Hollywood studio will weather the coronavirus outbreak in the next two years. The move to reduce the studio's IDR to A-, from A, with a negative outlook, follows the credit agency on March 18 revising Disney's rating outlook from "stable" to "negative" just as the coronavirus spread forced the closure of its theme parks and North American retail stores.

Five days after Endeavor confirmed layoffs, staff cuts and pay cuts that will impact roughly a third of its 7,500-person workforce, the firm has been hit with a credit ratings downgrade from Moody's. The financial services company on Monday revised its credit facility ratings on Endeavor — the parent company of talent agency WME, modeling agency IMG, Ultimate Fighting Championship and Professional Bull Riders — from stable to negative.

S&P Global Ratings on Thursday downgraded Walt Disney Co.'s credit rating over concerns the coronavirus crisis will slow any reopening of the studio's shuttered theme parks and studio production. "Continued government-imposed social distancing and, longer term, consumer concerns about attending public events will likely retard theme park attendance," the credit agency wrote in an April 23 note as it trimmed Disney's rating to an A-minus from A.

The U.K.'s COVID-19 Film and TV Emergency Relief Fund, officially launched earlier this month by the British Film Institute and the Film and TV Charity, has now closed to applicants, with almost 3,000 people applying for more than £5 million ($6.2 million), exceeding its financial limitations.

An additional 66 Los Angeles County residents have died from COVID-19 illness in the past 24 hours, it was reported Wednesday. That brings the total number of deaths across the county during the coronavirus pandemic to 729, with 89 percent of those patients suffering from underlying health conditions.
