Ryan Seacrest is looking back at his 20-year run on American Idol!
The radio personality stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday (March 30), where he discussed his longtime friendship with Ellen and his time as a host for the long-running competition show.

Ryan revealed that Ellen was one of the “became best friends with” when he moved to Los Angeles, describing her as a “true confidante.”
He then went on to discuss his time on American Idol, sharing that he never expected the show would run for as long as it has. Ryan said that he was actually “scared to death” when he started the hosting gig, noting that for the first five years he was “unsure” about how he came across.
“I remember after every live show I couldn’t see anyone or go to dinner or talk to anyone until I got home and watched it back on television, to see if it was at least okay,” he said, adding: “Now of course I can’t stand hearing myself or seeing myself.”
