Ryan Seacrest couldn’t leave his talk show without giving co-host Kelly Ripa an emotional goodbye.
It’s officially a wrap for TV’s hardest working host’s run on Live with Kelly and Ryan. To commemorate the end of his six-year venture, the crew all sat down for a “farewell dinner.” In a video posted to the morning show’s Instagram page, Ryan addressed the staff ahead of his final episode, which aired Friday. He began:

He added that he’ll miss the Halloween and Christmas shows the most and shouted out a few specific talents both in front of and behind the camera, calling the show “extraordinary.” He then got to his co-host and good friend, Kelly:
He then gave her husband, Mark Consuelos, who will be taking over his hosting duties, his dues:

The producer announced back in February that he would be leaving the show, calling Kelly a “dear friend,” and crediting American Idol’s move to the West Coast as his main reason for departing. However, insiders revealed to Page Six that Ryan’s multiple gigs, which also include his radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, left him exhausted for the morning show. This apparently created some “issues” between the co-hosts, but they were eventually able to put it all behind them:
That was proven by Kelly’s goodbye comments. At the end of Friday’s show, she said:
She also gushed about her co-host, saying:

in a viral Reddit thread after telling contestant Michael Williams that he might be going home following his performance of Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me.” “You sang ‘Lose You to Love Me,'” said the host. “We might lose you tonight.” The comment sparked an immediate backlash against the TV personality and mogul. “‘We might lose you tonight’ was so nasty omg,” commented one Reddit user.
Carol Burnett is out here proving age really is just a number.
Julianne Hough said this week that when she dated former "Live" host Ryan Seacrest more than a decade ago, he introduced her to the world of fine wine. "When I was 21, I actually ended up dating your former host, and he's very much into wine," the professional dancer and actress told Kelly Clarkson on her show Thursday while the two sampled Hough's wine brand. Hough was referring to "American Idol," which Seacrest hosts and where Clarkson was discovered. "He's got, I think, a winery in Napa and in Italy," Hough added.
A perfect match on screen — and off! Kelly Ripa couldn’t be more proud of husband Mark Consuelos for nailing their first week of Live With Kelly and Mark.
They’ll never say it publicly, of course — but can there be any doubt getting Meghan Markle to bow out of their next big event has the blue bloods tickled pink?
occasionally pre-recorded episodes of “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” sometimes in order to accommodate the “American Idol” host’s busy schedule splitting time between New York City and Los Angeles. Ripa and Seacrest would most commonly tape a Friday episode prior to broadcast — something they did for Seacrest’s final episode last week. Given that this Friday’s installment of “Live with Kelly and Mark” has likely been pre-recorded, it appears Ripa and Consuelos will work just three days this week.
Turning water into wine! Julianne Hough got candid about her past romance with Ryan Seacrest, telling Kelly Clarkson that her ex was the one to introduce her to wine — which ultimately led to starting her own label with Nina Dobrev.

Making his own name! Beckett Rex impressed the judges and viewers at home during season 21 of American Idol — but quit the show after making it to the Top 26.
Angelique Jackson Monday morning started out just like any other day for Ryan Seacrest. The alarm went off at 5:45 a.m. and he got straight to work. Except this time, he wasn’t in New York City leaving for the “Live With Kelly and Ryan” studio, where he’d do “Host Chat” perched next to Kelly Ripa. Instead, he threw off the covers and leaned into a microphone at his bedside to start “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on Los Angeles’ KIIS-FM. You see, last Friday marked his final episode of “Live,” and after six years of working six jobs at once, life as he knew it had changed. “The benefit of radio is I can do it remotely,” Seacrest says. “I will be able to jump out of bed, slip into my Uggs, make my coffee and be on the radio. And flip on ‘Live With Kelly and Mark’ in the background while I’m on air.”
Another shocking exit. American Idol fans discovered Beckett McDowell quit the show after making the Top 26, marking the third dropout of season 21.

"Live with Kelly and Mark" debuted Monday, and Ryan Seacrest was out of the co-hosting seat with Mark Consuelos officially beginning his first day on the job. While Kelly Ripa was completely comfortable co-hosting – a gig she's had at ABC for more than 20 years – viewers say they missed Seacrest. "Thank you for trusting me to be your co-pilot," Consuelos told his wife of 24 years at one point during the live show.

Saying goodbye. Ryan Seacrest got emotional while cohosting his final episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan on Friday, April 14.
Ripa told USA Today on Thursday, just after Seacrest’s big finale was taped, that his goodbye was “very, extraordinarily emotional” and the two of them would probably cry — though they vowed not to.“Like, ‘No, you’re gonna cry.’ ‘No, I’m not gonna cry. You’re gonna cry,” Ripa said. “And then we were like, ‘Nobody’s going to cry. Because if we start crying, then our parents will cry, and your sister will cry. We’re going to keep it together. We’re going to keep it professional.’”But they couldn’t even hold it together off-stage before the taping.“We were backstage waiting for Déjà (Vu Parker) to make the final announcement, and I looked at him, and we just locked eyes,” Ripa shared. “And I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! This sucks!’ And then we both started crying, and I was like, ‘No! No! We are not crying before we get out there.
