According to the Deltaplex News in Arkansas, via the NY Post, Ryan apparently died in a drowning accident this week in Destin, Florida.
Ryan was “transported from a beach to a hospital, and pronounced dead on arrival,” sources told the paper.
Prior to being drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Patriots, Ryan played for the University of Michigan before transferring to the University of Arkansas from 2008 to 2010.
Following his retirement from the NFL, Ryan turned to coaching and had been the head football coach at White Hall High School in Arkansas for the past year.
