A RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant has been disqualified over multiple allegations he “catfished” men.
Joey Gugliemelli, who uses the stage name Sherry Pie, was at the centre of a BuzzFeed News report alleging he posed as a casting director and asked aspiring performers to submit embarrassing audition tapes.
In a statement on Facebook, Gugliemelli apologised for causing “much trauma and pain,” adding he is “horribly embarrassed and disgusted” with himself.
