Batwoman executive producer Caroline Dries has assured fans of the show there will still be a lesbian dynamic following the exit of Ruby Rose – because that’s why she signed on to be part of the series.Rose made history when she was cast as the first openly-gay TV superhero in 2018, but after shooting one season of the drama the Australian actress stepped down, announcing her decision last month.

Kate Kane will not be killed off during Batwoman’s second series but her disappearance will become one of the show’s major mysteries, its showrunner has confirmed.

Batwoman bosses are hunting for a completely new character to replace Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane on the hit TV show.

Ruby Rose surprisingly left her lead role on The CW’s Batwoman earlier this year, which shocked many fans. At the time of the news, it wasn’t entirely clear why she left the set of the series, however, many speculated it was because she didn’t like filming in Vancouver, British Columbia, while others argued it was due to her accident the previous year.

Looks like Batwoman is going to be even more like Batman than anyone realized — because we’re going to get a new actor in this role every couple years, too!

Ruby Rose addressed her abrupt exit as the lead of The CW’s “Batwoman.” The 34-year-old actress was cast in 2018 to join the network’s ever-expanding roster of TV shows based on DC Comics heroes like “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,” “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow.” However, she announced earlier this month that she won’t be back for Season 2, forcing the series to recast her part.

Apparently, it only took one season for Ruby Rose to figure out she’s not ready to become a full-time superhero in the CW Arrowverse, as the lead actress for the network’s most recent superhero launch, “Batwoman,” has hung up her cape and cowl for good. According to Deadline, Rose has informed CW and the crew behind the new hit series, “Batwoman,” that she doesn’t intend on returning for Season 2.

A week ago, Ruby Rose confirmed in a statement that she has called it quits with Batwoman after playing the lead role in the first season. The news of Ruby Rose's exit from the series ahead of its season 2 comes as shock for the fans and recently, the actress has opened up about her departure. Ruby Rose admits it isn't an easy decision for her but she needed to do it. Taking to her Instagram handle a day ago, Ruby got candid about her Batwoman journey.
