Ron Howard to Direct Biopic on Master Chinese Pianist Lang Lang

When it was recently announced that Ron Howard would direct a biopic of Chinese classical pianist Lang Lang, director Lulu Wang (The Farewell) was among those who voiced an objection. She tweeted: “As a classically-trained pianist born in China, I believe it’s impossible to tell Lang Lang’s story without an intimate understanding of Chinese culture + the impact of the Cultural Revolution on artists & intellectuals + the effects of Western imperialism.

Queen guitarist Brian May has opened up about his ongoing recovery from a heart attack he suffered earlier this year.Back in May, May told fans that he had been “very near death” when he was hospitalised after doctors discovered that three arteries in his heart “were congested and in danger of blocking the supply of blood” to his heart.Now, in a new interview with The Times, May has opened up further about the health-scare, saying that his recovery still feels like “a long climb back.”He added:

Normally, news of a brand-new film from Ron Howard would garner happy reactions from film fans. Though he doesn’t always wow us with his films, when Howard is on his game, the filmmaker has the chance of turning in something special.

Stuart Ford's AGC Studios is financing the new film, which Brian Grazer will produce through his and Howard's Imagine Entertainment shingle.

The superstar comedian-actor will host new regular and live programs on his channel, Laugh Out Loud Radio, while expanding additional comedic programming that includes radio shows, podcasts and on-demand video.Hart said the deal with SiriusXM will give him more creative control.
