‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Heads Back to Theaters in Imax With Advance ‘Andor’ Footage

In the Star Wars universe, it is not an unlikely thing to see a good character turn evil or an evil one turn good. The whole Skywalker saga is about the character of Anakin Skywalker turning from good to evil to back to good. These turns are often total swaps, completely different ends of the scale.

“Andor” hasn’t even premiered on Disney+ yet, but “Star Wars” fans already anticipate the show being incredible. And there’s a lot for fans to be excited about as the show approaches its September 21 premiere date.

If you’re a fan of the “Star Wars” franchise, it’s sad to see how the sequel trilogy ended with a thud instead of the bang it deserves. “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” was meant to be this celebratory ending that would make fans cheer and bring to a close a series of films dating back decades.

John Boyega, who was the actor behind the ex-Stormtrooper turned Resistance fighter Finn, has made it known to everyone that his time making the Star Wars sequels was not a good one. Even though Boyega had such a negative experience he is still a big Star Wars fan and keeps up with all the latest projects, most recently talking about the Obi-Wan Kenobi show that streamed on Disney Plus. One of the biggest problems John Boyega had was the lack of meaningful representation throughout the trilogy.

The new instalment in the Star Wars universe will see executive producer and star Diego Luna reprise his role as titular character, the ruthless and sharp-witted Cassian Andor.

With less than a month to go before Star Wars: Andor’s three-episode premiere on Disney Plus where the stories of the early years of the heroic but dark rebel spy Cassian Andor will be told. Andor is set to take place in the year 5 BBY with BBY meaning before the battle of Yavin aka the first Death Star. So Andor takes place five years before the events of Rogue One and A New Hope as both of those movies take place in 0 BBY.

John Boyega may not be returning to the world of  but he still appreciates seeing the franchise take a step toward changing for the better. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s , Boyega praised studios Disney and Lucasfilm for their timely response to the fan harassment of  star Moses Ingram.Speaking with Fugelsang, the Breaking actor said he didn't feel any bitterness comparing the difference in how the studios' responded to the racism he faced while staring in the sequel series.«That's how it goes, man,» he said, acknowledging how his experience made Disney and Lucasfilm reevaluate how they handle fan harassment. «I felt Moses Ingram being protected makes me feel protected.

With Star Wars: Andor coming out in September of this year fans have been waiting very patiently for Cassian Andor to appear back on screen after his debut in Rouge One: A Star Wars Story. For those of you who are not aware of who Cassian Andor is, he is one of if not the best spy the Rebel Alliance has and is one of Senator Bail Organa’s and Mon Monthma’s favorite Rebel operatives. In the clip below Cassian Andor is talking to a client as Andor is selling the man stolen Imperial goods. As they are in the middle of a transaction the man asks Cassian Andor how he got these goods as Andor brushes the question off he replies by saying “You just walk in like you belong.” The clip is said to be from the three-episode premiere set to release on September 21st.

Tony Gilroy didn’t want to make a prequel to “Rogue One.” The 2016 “Star Wars” feature, which Gilroy co-wrote, is itself a prequel, detailing how a ragged crew of rebels, led by spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), steal the plans to the Death Star. They succeed, but (spoiler alert!) they all sacrifice their lives doing so — an uncharacteristically dour ending for a “Star Wars” endeavor. The production was also infamously troubled, with Gilroy, who wrote four “Bourne” movies and directed “Michael Clayton,” stepping in to helm extensive reshoots in place of director Gareth Edwards. When the result was a massive hit, grossing just over $1 billion worldwide, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was eager do more “Star Wars” movies with Gilroy.

Four years ago, Academy Award-nominated writer/director Tony Gilroy (“Michael Clayton,” “The Bourne Legacy”) had an idea. It was two years after the release of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”—a film Gilroy joined in the middle of making to assist and then came on board to write and direct major reshoots and then oversee the post-production process.

With high anticipation in the Star Wars community for the Andor television series coming to Disney plus Rouge One: A Star Wars Story becomes even more important to the Star Wars lore as Cassian Andor is a main character in that movie. With the unfortunate news of Andor being Delayed till September Lucasfilm has decided to rerelease Rouge One in 150 IMAX Movie Theaters in the U.S and Canada for one week from August 26th.

Zack Sharf Oscar Isaac appears to have changed his course when it comes to a possible return to “Star Wars.” The actor played fan-favorite Poe Dameron in the most recent “Star Wars” trilogy with Daisy Ridley’s Rey and John Boyega’s Finn, but he ended his run burnt out and doubtful that he’d ever return for more. However, Isaac recently said during a SiriusXM interview that he’s “so open” to more “Star Wars” as long as “there was a great story and a great director.”“I don’t know.

Diego Luna is back on “Star Wars.” The Mexican actor starred in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in 2016, and is back to reprise his role in “Andor,” a prequel series that show’s his character’s initial involvement with the Rebellion.
