Riverdale's KJ Apa Gets 'Shard of Metal' Stuck in His Eye, Documents It on Video

Ava DuVernay has set her next project — and it's inspired by a popular Twitter account. The filmmaker will executive produce and narrate at HBO Max, the streaming service announced on Friday. The new half-hour docuseries will celebrate iconic movie moments guided by Hollywood's most exhilarating cinematic voices.

Denise Petski Senior Managing EditorHBO Max has greenlighted One Perfect Shot, a docuseries that celebrates some of the most iconic moments in filmmaking, narrated and executive produced by Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Ava DuVernay.

Back in March, Ava Max unveiled her powerful anthem for the queens, "Kings & Queens" as the fifth single off her upcoming album, Heaven & Hell. But on Thursday (Aug. 6) the singer called on her fellow stars Lauv and Saweetie for a fiery remix.

Ava DuVernay has been selected to receive the 27th annual Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize in honor of her ongoing efforts to amplify the voices of women and people of color through her film and TV work. DuVernay becomes the fourth filmmaker, and first female director, after Ingmar Bergman, Robert Redford and Spike Lee to receive the esteemed prize.
