Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Elsa Zylberstein (“Simone: Woman of the Century”) will star as the French feminist writer Simone de Beauvoir in a feature film that will be penned by Oscar-winning writer Christopher Hampton and directed by Anne Fontaine. Zylberstein’s Sonia Films will produce the film with Philippe Carcassone’s banner Cine@ and Master Movie, the production vehicle of Marco and Lola Pacchioni. Rather than a biopic, the movie will revolve around the passionate transatlantic romance between de Beauvoir and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Nelson Algren. Zylberstein has scooped the adaptation rights of de Beauvoir’s “Lettres à Nelson Algren” from Gallimard. Through those letters, the film will chart the pair’s affair, which spanned nearly two decades from 1947, in the aftermath of World War II, to 1964. Two-thirds of the movie will take place in Chicago, and the reminder will unfold in Paris.

Rita Simons has revealed that she had to ask a co-star for help after she became stuck in a bathroom while naked.The embarrassing incident occurred while the former EastEnders star, 46, was filming her TV comeback as part of the reality series Pilgrimage, which sees a group of celebrities of different faiths trekking together on a historical pilgrimage.The trek proved somewhat challenging for Rita, whose scoliosis can cause pain and mobility issues. It was in a hostel along the pilgrimage route that the actress became stuck in a toilet and had to ask her co-star Su Pollard for help.

Non-believer Vicky Pattison is as surprised as anyone that she was asked to take on the fifth season of Pilgrimage, a trek along the Catholic Fatima Way in Portugal.The ex-Geordie Shore star made her name in what she describes as “conflict-driven reality TV” and is the only one of the seven celebrity pilgrims not to have a faith. “I thought I was a bit of a rogue booking for this one,” she admits.

A request filed Friday (March 10) on behalf of Marvel in federal district court in California asked the court to issue a subpoena to compel Reddit to identify the person or group responsible for sharing dialogue from “Quantumania” to the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit “on or about” Jan. 20, 2023. The film, starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Jonathan Majors, opened wide in the U.S. on Feb. 17. Marvel requested “all Identifying Information for the user ‘u/MSSmods'” as well as that of “any other user(s) responsible for posting, editing, and/or maintaining the content” that was available on the subreddit (but is no longer) for the period from Jan. 15-Feb. 15. The Marvel subpoena request was filed under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
