The Blade Runner universe is being brought to the small-screen!
Deadline writes that Ridley Scott is set to executive produce the new series Blade Runner 2099, which will act as a follow up to Denis Villeneuve‘s Blade Runner 2049.

The outlet writes that the project is in “priority development” at Amazon, with the streaming service fast tracking scripts and figuring out production dates. Silka Luisa, who’s best known as the showrunner of Apple TV+’s forthcoming drama Shining Girls starring Elisabeth Moss, has signed on to write and produce the new series.
While nothing is set in stone yet, it’s reported that Ridley would possibly direct the series if it moves forward.
