Fans of "American Horror Story" can finally breathe a sigh of relief as details for the show’s eleventh season have finally been announced, including the title, "American Horror Story: NYC." After months of speculation from fans as to what the theme of the upcoming season would be, FX announced Thursday the season will be called "NYC" and will premiere Oct. 19.  Two episodes will air on the premiere date, with two episodes airing each Wednesday for the following four weeks.

is back with its 11th installment in FX’s long-running horror anthology series, which is officially dubbed and will debut mid-October. Presumably leaning into the queer esthetic teased by leaked photos of the production, the newest season also stars an all-star LGBTQ cast, including Joe Mantello, Zachary Quinto, Russell Tovey, Charlie Carver, Isaac Powell and Denis O’Hare. Rounding out this year’s ensemble are Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Sandra Bernhard and Patti LuPone. For those keeping track, marks the return of alums Quinto, Powell, LuPone, Lourd, Grossman and Bernhard, while the rest are newcomers to the franchise despite having previously worked with co-creator Ryan Murphy.While few details are known about the new season, FX chairman John Landgraf told that season 11 would go back to being one story after last year’s Double Feature. “It actually takes place in different timelines but it’s one subject, one story, with a beginning, middle and an end, like many of the prior stories,” he said. Sadly, for fans of the series, longtime recurring players Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters appear not to have roles in season 11.

The 11th installment of FX’s American Horror Story franchise is set for a fall premiere. FX has slotted Wednesday, October 19 for the debut of AHS: NYC. The announcement also is a confirmation of the title and the season’s focus on the Big Apple. The first two episodes of the 10-episode season will drop at 10 PM ET/PT on FX and will stream the next day on Hulu. They will be followed by two episodes each Wednesday for four subsequent weeks. HBO confirmed Sapochnik was stepping away from the series, though he remains an executive producer for the remainder of the show. Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent The 17th annual Rome Film Festival will fete James Ivory with a career honor, a mini retrospective and the Italian launch of the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s personal new documentary “A Cooler Climate.” Ivory is expected in Rome to receive the award and present the doc about his life as a traveler that takes its cue from boxes of film the director shot during a life-changing trip to Afghanistan in 1960. The film premieres beforehand at the New York Film Festival. Rome’s Ivory mini-retrospective will comprise his films “Maurice”; “Mr. and Mrs. Bridge,” starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward; “The Remains of the Day”; and “A Room With a View.”

Caroline Framke Chief TV Critic It takes six episodes for “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” (yes, that is indeed the show’s full name) to meaningfully expand beyond the scope of either the serial killer or Evan Peters’ portrayal of him. In that episode, “Silenced,” directed by Paris Barclay and written by Janet Mock and David McMillan, the story of Dahmer victim Tony Anthony Hughes comes to the forefront. Tony (played with warm charm by “Deaf U” alum Rodney Burford) was a gregarious aspiring model with a big heart. He was Deaf, Black, gay, a great dancer. His friends and mother (a moving Karen Malina White) loved him very much. With every moment Burford gets to give Tony new life, the inevitable end of “Silenced” becomes all the more harrowing, and the cops’ inaction to find the truth all the more infuriating. But as the show’s nonsensical maze of a title suggests, this episode is an exception rather than the rule. Otherwise, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s new Netflix series is a grim, sepia-toned slog that rarely justifies its own existence.

But his latest project ,Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, may provide his scariest role yet.

Michaela Zee editor Netflix has released the official trailer of Ryan Murphy’s true crime series “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” starring “American Horror Story” alum Evan Peters in the titular role. The 10-episode limited series follows the story of real-life serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Primarily told from the perspective of Dahmer’s victims, the series will reportedly take place from the 1960s to early 1990s. “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” will also explore the incompetence of the Wisconsin police during the murder investigations, allowing Dahmer to continue his killing spree.

Action hero Sylvester Stallone dined out in Rome on a warm fall night accompanied by friends and a mystery woman in a black dress this past Tuesday. As the group left their SUV, surrounded by bodyguards and began walking to their restaurant, the woman grew closer to the Rocky star, 76, and affectionately placed an arm on his back. The innovative pic, which features an A-list ensemble cast comprising Monica Bellucci, Sara Serraiocco (“Counterpart”) and Silvio Orlando (“The Young Pope”), is set amid a protracted drought caused by climate change in the Italian capital where the Tiber has dried up. Virzì spoke to Variety about how “Siccità” germinated during COVID-19 and was shot amid tight pandemic protocols. Excerpts. You worked with novelist and screenwriter Paolo Giordano on the concept and the script for this film. How did the collaboration start?
