Residents 'visibly upset' as 'house party' stabbing leaves man in hospital

A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed at a party in Stockport in the early hours of this morning (January 22).
Residents of Royal George Street, in Stockport, were left visibly upset as police taped off four houses while investigating the incident.
Crime Scene investigation officers carried out evidence from a house throughout the morning.

Blood could be seen left on the driveway across the Stockport Homes-managed properties, behind Stockport College.
One neighbour just outside the cordon described a 'dead loud' party happening in the early hours of the morning.
Another who was visiting a friend who lived on the road described hearing a party starting late last night and carrying on into the early hours before seeing police at the scene.
They said: "There's a lot of kids living around here. Hearing a loud party turning into an incident like this is not nice at all."
Police confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that they were called around 2.25am to reports of a 'disturbance' at a property on Royal George Street.
They established a man, in his 20s, had been stabbed, and was in a stable condition in hospital after self-presenting.
A man in his 30s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault.
A spokesman said: "Officers attended and established a fight had occurred that left a man in his 20s injured with stab wounds.
"He had self-presented at hospital and remains there in a stable condition.
"A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and is being questioned in custody as our enquiries continue."
