A set of Remington hair straighteners, which are said to be 'better than GHD', have dropped to less than £20 in Amazon's Black Friday sale. The Remington Shine Therapy Advanced Ceramic Hair Straighteners, infused with Moroccan argan oil and vitamin E, were first slashed from £79.99 to £24.99 before being reduced further to just £17.99. According to Price Spy, which allows you to check the price history of a product, this is the cheapest the straighteners have been since this time last year.
The same product is also on sale at Currys for £19.98 and at Boots, where it is currently retailing for £21.50.
These straighteners have received rave reviews from over 25,000 shoppers on Amazon, earning a near-perfect rating of 4.7 stars out of five, with users writing that the tool leaves their hair looking 'smooth' and 'shiny'. One happy customer wrote: "Love these! Better than GHD and all the other ones I have tried in the shopping malls (you don't get the same results at home!) "Easy to change temperature, lightweight so I can take them on holidays, and don't burn your fingers. Definitely worth trying if you are unsure of which straighteners to use.
"Inexpensive and do the job. I have long, thick, wavy hair.
They straighten my hair quickly and without the burning smell." And a second wrote: "As soon as I got these out the box, they smelt so plasticky and didn't feel particularly nice to hold so I had very low expectations. "However, they work really well and have made my hair really soft and shiny.
My old GHD's has gone in the drawer!" Another customer left a four-star review, writing: "Was looking at dear hair straighteners. But wanted to try these as had great reviews. Also reccomend as great and less damage to hair.

Martin Dale Contributor Moroccan director Hicham Lasri (“The End,” “Headbang Lullaby”) is presenting the world premiere of his seventh feature film, “Moroccan Badass Girl,” at the Marrakech Film Festival, and also participating in the Atlas Workshops with “Happy Lovers.” He describes both as dark comedies about antiheroes in the Arab world, “a bit in the vein of the Coen brothers.” “Moroccan Badass Girl,” starring Fadoua Taleb, is a contemporary low-budget pic about a headstrong, unpredictable young Moroccan woman in Casablanca. “Happy Lovers” features a clumsy French writer who accepts a mission to kill a well-known author, with a fatwa on his head. Both projects mark a major change from Lasri’s previous six feature films, which have all been set in Morocco in the 1980s, at the end of the so-called “Years of Lead,” during the reign of King Hassan II.

He spoke to Variety about his ties to Morocco, why he’s “happy to be promoting and starting to work again” now that the strike is over, and his role in Tim Burton’s upcoming “Beetlejuice 2.” How does it feel to be back in Marrakech? I’m happy to be back. Morocco for me is “The Last Temptation of Christ,” a film that was a beautiful experience.
