When asked who she thought would be a good fit to play her in a biopic, Reba immediately replied: “Dolly Parton. She’d be funnier, prettier, sassier and everything more than me, so I think that’d be a hoot.”
The singer also discussed the 2022 Oscars, where she’ll be performing Diane Warren‘s Oscar-nominated song “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days. Other stars set to hit the stage include Beyonce, Billie Eilish and more.
Reba said she was feeling “proud” but “very intimidated.”
“I will do my best to represent country music as best I can. I was very emotional yesterday about the Oscars, because I said yes to the Oscars in 1991 and then the plane crash happened,” she continued, referring to a tragic plane crash in which eight members of her band, her manager and both pilots were killed.
She explained that because of the terrible accident years, it was difficult for her to see the upcoming performance in a positive light.
“And so I finally figured it out yesterday, I thought if I got too excited, something would happen. So I said, ‘God, I’m just going to give it up to you… Let me have a good time, let me sing it the way I’m supposed to say it,’” Reba shared. “And it lifted like 100 pounds. We went to rehearsal and I had a great time.”
