R.E.M. have announced a 25th anniversary reissue of their 11th studio album ‘Up’ – find all the details below.The Michael Stipe-fronted band released the original version of the record back in 1998, marking their first project since the amicable departure of their founding drummer Bill Berry.Co-produced by R.E.M.
alongside Pat McCarthy (U2, Counting Crows, The Waterboys) with assistance from Nigel Godrich (Radiohead), ‘Up’ features the singles ‘Daysleeper’, ‘Lotus’, ‘At My Most Beautiful’ and ‘Suspicion’.Today (September 19) it has been announced that a series of expanded and remastered reissues of the album will arrive on November 10 via Craft Recordings. You can pre-order/pre-save your copy here.Created in partnership with R.E.M., the deluxe 2CD/1 Blu-ray edition includes the band’s previously unreleased set from their guest appearance on the hit TV series Party Of Five in 1999.The accompanying Blu-ray boasts HD music videos from the 1998 album (‘Daysleeper’ ‘Lotus’, ‘At My Most Beautiful’), a six-song performance from the era titled Uptake, the record’s original EPK, plus hi-resolution and 5.1 surround sound audio.Housed in a 32-page hardcover book, the collection also includes liner notes from journalist and Talkhouse Executive Editor Josh Modell, featuring new interviews with members of R.E.M..A post shared by R.E.M.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have revealed details of their next studio album ‘The Silver Cord’, which is set for release next month.The album serves as the band’s 25th overall, and the follow-up to June’s ‘PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation’.As revealed on the band’s Instagram account, the album will feature seven new songs and be released in two formats: a regular edition and an “extended edition” with longer versions of each song.The album cover sees the sextet in matching black clothing and red teashade glasses surrounded by keyboards and synthesizers, potentially indicating a return to the electronic sound of songs like 2019’s ‘Cyboogie’.It is not yet known if any singles will be released from the album prior to its official release on Friday, October 27. D12 have announced a UK tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their second and final studio album ‘D12 World’.Kicking off in December, the Detroit hip-hop collective will make their way across the Atlantic Ocean to play the O2 Ritz in Manchester on the 6th. From there, D12 will then make stops in Birmingham, London, Bristol and Cardiff. The final show of the tour will take place on December 12 in Southampton.Tickets will go on general sale on Friday, September 22 at 10am local time.
OMD have announced a 2024 UK and European tour and have shared their latest single ‘Slow Train’ from their upcoming album ‘Bauhaus Staircase‘.Kicking off early next year, the duo – consisting of Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys – will hit the road and make their way through Europe and the UK. Starting off on January 22, 2024, OMD will play the Rockefeller in Oslo, Norway and then make their way to major cities such as Stockholm, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Warsaw, Prague, Belfast, Paris, Dublin and more.Starting in March, the duo will then take over the UK with their first show in Manchester’s O2 Apollo.

Neil Young has announced details of a 50th anniversary reissue of his 1973 album, Time Fades Away.A special reissue of the album, entitled Time Fades Away 50 will be released on November 3 via Reprise Records in a new limited edition clear vinyl.In addition to the eight original songs on the album, the new anniversary release will also include the bonus song ‘The Last Trip to Tulsa.’ This was originally released in November 1973 as the B-side to the album’s single, which was the title track. The Monkees’ Micky Dolenz has announced he will be releasing an EP of R.E.M covers, including a version of ‘Shiny Happy People’.Dolenz, the sole surviving member of The Monkees, shared that the four-track EP will be titled ‘Dolenz Sings R.E.M’. New Order have announced reissued editions of their classic compilation album ‘Substance 1987’ – find all the details below.Originally released via the legendary Factory Records, the record featured all of the Manchester band’s singles up to that point in their 12″ forms, as well as many of their respective B-sides.‘Substance 1987’ also contained newly-recorded versions of the songs ‘Temptation’ and Confusion’.
