Quentin Tarantino Signs Two-Book Deal Including A ‘Once Upon A Time’ Novelization Coming Next Summer

Leo Barraclough Senior International CorrespondentTopic, the fast-growing streaming service from First Look Media, has acquired North American streaming rights to Anabel Rodriguez Rios’ documentary feature debut, “Once Upon a Time in Venezuela.” The film, which explores the decline of the Venezuelan fishing village of Congo Mirador and, more broadly, the country’s complicated current political and social climate, made its world premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

Neil Patrick Harris will be helping to poke fun at Nicolas Cage’s career after signing on to play his talent agent in upcoming action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.The Ghost Rider star is set to portray a fictionalized version of himself as a debt-ridden Cage, desperate to land a part in Quentin Tarantino’s next movie, only to find himself taking on a vastly different role as a real-life informant for the C.I.A.

 Salma Hayek ’s performance in the 1996 action horror film From Dusk till Dawn left perplexed more than one. The movie, directed by Robert Rodriguez and starred by  George Clooney , Quentin Tarantino, Juliette Lewis,  Cheech Marin , Danny Trejo, and many more, served as a platform to the then 29 years old actress.

Some of you might have missed this earlier in the week, but my favorite bit of film news actually concerns a book. Of course, it’s a book based on an Academy Award winning movie, and comes from an Oscar winning filmmaker, but still.

Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino has signed a two-book deal with Harper, to include his first novel and personal writings on 1970s-era film. Harper, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, will release Tarantino’s first work of fiction, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in summer 2021.
