Queen Elizabeth addressed the British nation in a rare TV broadcast on Sunday, April 5, to discuss the coronavirus pandemic. For the monumental occasion, she wore a bright green frock and a matching brooch — but there’s a lot more behind the ensemble than originally meets the eye.

On Sunday, Queen Elizabeth addressed the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in a broadcasted speech that is airing in Britain at 8 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Queen Elizabeth II is addressing the nation and the world for the first time since 2002. The 93-year-old British monarch shared a special broadcast on Sunday from her residence at Windsor Castle, where she is currently residing with her husband, Prince Philip. 

Queen Elizabeth II delivered a rare televised speech on Sunday, April 5, about the “enormous changes” people are experiencing in the U.K. and around the world amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Coronavirus remains firmly in the royal orbit as one of Queen Elizabeth’s footmen has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

A royal aide at the Buckingham palace was reportedly diagnosed with Coronavirus before Queen Elizabeth II visited her London residence in Windsor Castle. Sources stated that the 93 years old Queen shifted out of the Buckingham Palace indefinitely on Thursday. All her engagements were cancelled but reports declared her fit and healthy. However, as a precaution, Queen Elizabeth moved out of the palace.

Queen Elizabeth has shared a sweet message of solidarity during what she has described as a ‘period of great concern and uncertainty.’

Stepping up. Queen Elizabeth II addressed the U.K. in an effort to assure citizens that the royal family will be of assistance during the coronavirus pandemic.

Though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to step down as senior royals on March 31, they're still highlighting the message of Queen Elizabeth II — literally! On Thursday, the queen shared words of comfort to the people of Great Britain and the world, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reposted the statement. 

Following the March 17 announcement that she and her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, 98, would be self-isolating in Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth II, 93, made her first statement since making the crucial move. “As Philip and I arrive at Windsor today, we know that many individuals and families across the United Kingdom, and around the world, are entering a period of great concern and uncertainty,” the Queen’s statement began.

Despite of all the media reports that suggest otherwise, Queen Elizabeth II is not going anywhere amid coronavirus Pandemic. According to the UK media correspondent Neil Sean, the Queen has decided to put her life at risk and stick with her people. Sean revealed that the Queen realises that if she runs away, it won’t send a great message to the people of her country, Fox News reported. The Queen will stay with her people and support them amid the ongoing crisis. 

Last year, Big Concerts announced that Lighthouse Family will be visiting South Africa for the first time. However, after President Cyril Ramaphosa banned public gatherings of over 100 people because of the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, Big Concerts has confirmed that, unfortunately, the Lighthouse Family concert will be rescheduled.

Queen Elizabeth II is abstaining from shaking hands at official events amid the coronavirus outbreak. On Tuesday, Her Royal Highness had an audience at Buckingham Palace upon meeting with Sri Lankan High Commissioner Saroja Sirisena and her husband, Dr. Sudath Talpahewa.
