Queen Elizabeth Opens Parliament With Several Poignant Changes Following Prince Philip's Death

Prince Harry reportedly found out his grandfather Prince Philip died just one hour before the news was broken to the British public.The Duke of Edinburgh passed away at Windsor Castle on 9 April, while his grandson Harry and pregnant wife Meghan Markle were asleep in California, USA. Officials at the US Embassy made several attempts to contact Harry while he was sound asleep at 3am, it's been claimed.

The Queen and Prince Charles have released the first new photo of themselves together since the death of her husband and his father, Prince Phillip. The 95 year old Monarch is launching The Queen's Green Canopy, an initiative encouraging people in the UK to plant trees to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee next year.

The occasion marked Queen Elizabeth’s first official engagement since the loss of her beloved husband of more than 70 years, Prince Philip, in April.

The British monarch, 95, was captured in a photograph that was tweeted out by the Royal Family on Tuesday, April 27. In the photo, which featured the queen meeting with two new ambassadors to the United Kingdom via video, Queen Elizabeth smiled and wore a beautiful, floral ensemble in hues of blue.
