Queen Elizabeth II, 93, made her first appearance since Prince Harry, 35, and Duchess Meghan Markle, 38, announced their move to North America. The longest reigning monarch of the United Kingdom was spotted on her Sandringham estate in Norfolk on Jan. 10 behind the wheel of her Land Rover — yes, you read that right. The Queen appeared to have a rather stern look across her visage, as she concentrated on the road and squinted to keep the beaming sun out of her eyes.

In her first appearance since Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, announced that they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II was spotted driving with her dog.The monarch also sported a dog-print headscarf.Queen Elizabeth was reportedly on her way to a shoot on the Sandringham estate, where she has been staying for the holiday season.There are dog lovers and dog haters. Queen Elizabeth II, 93, has released a statement on January 9 outlining the Royal Family’s next steps after Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, announcement that they’re ‘stepping back’ from their duties and moving to North America.

After talking about a «bumpy» year in her 2019 Christmas Day message, Queen Elizabeth II's 2020 is not off to a good start. On Wednesday, her grandson, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, announced that they are planning to step back as senior members of the royal family, become financially independent, and split their time between the U.K. and North America. 

Queen Elizabeth II and Buckingham palace have spoken. The monarch released a statement, by way of the palace on Jan. 8, sharing a rather different angle than the jovial news Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle had shared. The official Royal Communications statement sent out read, “Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that we will take time to work through.”

Prince Philip is coming home for Christmas. The 98-year-old royal was released from the hospital on Tuesday after a four-day stay for medical observation. On Friday, he was brought to King Edward VII's Hospital in London per his doctor's advice. According to Buckingham Palace, he was there «for observation and treatment in relation to a preexisting condition.»

Queen Elizabeth II is well aware that 2019 was far from smooth sailing.
