Prince William has revealed a sweet detail about his youngest son, Prince Louis ' bedtime routine during his recent appearance at the Buckingham Palace garden party.
The 41 year old future king, who was joined by his cousins Princess Eugenie , Princess Beatrice, Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall, received a gift from author Rowan Aderyn, a member of William's Homewards foundation. Sadly, Kate Middleton couldn't join the event as she is currently recovering from her cancer treatment.
However, the Duke of Cambridge seemed delighted with the gift from Rowan - a copy of his book, Homewards. "The gift was one that William greatly appreciated," Us Weekly reported, with William telling the author, "This is great, so inspirational.
I'll read this to Louis tonight at bedtime." Interestingly, this isn't the first time William has mentioned reading to his children. In 2020, he spotted a copy of Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson during a visit to a South Wales ice cream parlour and confessed: "I read this to our children all the time," according to the Daily Mail.
In the same chat, Prince William even cheekily claimed that Julia Donaldson's books had rescued countless bedtimes. "I said, 'Do you realise how many parents you have saved at bedtime? '" he reminisced, reports the Mirror.
William isn't just an admirer of Julias work - he also raved about David Walliams' children's books, giving a huge thumbs up to the former BGT judges literature, branding them as "really, really good". However, it's not only William and his children who are bookworms! Our favourite down-to-earth Royal mum, Kate, got everyone excited when she took over the CBeebies's bedtime hour to enthral young viewers with the tale The Owl Who Was Afraid
