Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is sharing her birthday with a very important date for her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
It turns out that Lili‘s first birthday coincides with the sovereign’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Lili will turn one-year-old on June 4, which is the same weekend that the United Kingdom will host festivities celebrating the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
Just two days before, June 2, is the anniversary of the Queen’s 1953 coronation at Westminster Abbey.
Elizabeth had ascended to the throne 16 months earlier, following the sudden passing of her father, King George VI. She was in a mourning period for that length of time.
This year, the Platinum Jubilee will take place from June 2 until June 5 with festivities like a Derby attendance at Epsom Downs, the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace, and Trooping the Colour.
