Prince Harry and Meghan Markle donate about $100,000 to UK hunger charity amid coronavirus outbreak

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are finally getting to tell their side of the royal resignation story after collaborating on an upcoming book. Provisionally entitled Thoroughly Modern Royals: The Real World Of Harry and Meghan, it will offer a flattering portrait of the couple who earlier this year quit as senior royals.

It was just earlier this year when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they would be stepping down as senior members of the Britain's royal family. Since then, the pair have moved to the U.S.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to be thoroughly enjoying quality family time as they self-isolate at their rented Malibu home. However, the commencement of the preliminary hearing of the court battle with a UK newspaper is said to have cast a shadow over their otherwise contented life.They have also faced criticism of their decision to blacklist certain media outlets.The couple dialled in to the hearing from Malibu, making them the first royals to attend court remotely.

Recently, a statement given by their representatives revealed that the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex have blacklisted four UK tabloids, namely, Daily Mail, Express, Mirror and The Sun and they have decided to never deal with them again. "We are writing to set a new media relations policy, specifically as it pertains to your organization," the letter read.

When Meghan Markle married into the royal family, it was said that she had a very hard time when dealing with the tabloids.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have donated £90,000 (more than $100,000) to charity Feeding Britain, according to Town & Country. The donation stemmed from the proceeds generated from the Sussexes' global wedding broadcast in 2018.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially bid goodbye to their royal roles on March 31, 2020, but not before completing their scheduled duties like attending the Commonwealth Service at Westminister Abbey. After officially stepping back from their roles as senior members of the royal family last month, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spilled some details about their new non-profit organisation. They have named the organisation ‘Archewell’ after their son’s name Archie.
