Anne Robinson has been announced as the new presenter of Countdown, after Nick Hewer quit last year.The Weakest Link star Anne, 76, will please Nick Hewer, who quit the show late last year after the lockdown made him reconsider his career. Anne will become the first woman to lead the show in its 38 year history, though Rachel Riley runs the letters and numbers board on the show since 2009.
