Police investigating the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Manchester city centre have released an image of a man they want to speak to. Officers were called to the canal tow path near Dale Street at around 6.50pm on Saturday, July 11.  A girl and her friends were approached by a group of men at around 5.15pm, police said.

Hare Hill Park in Littleborough was cordoned off for much of Thursday (October 8) following the report.Police were called to the park at 1am on Thursday after a man reported he had been sexually assaulted by another man.Officers confirmed details of the allegation, appealed to the public for more information and started an investigation.Today a statement from Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers had conducted an investigation and concluded no crime had been committed.The statement said:

Police have shared photos of a haul of knives that were left at a police station as part of a knife amnesty. Greater Manchester Police launched its  Forever Amnesty initiative, as part of its clamp down on serious violent crime, Operation Sycamore.A series of 'amnesty bins' were placed around the region to encourage people to anonymously and safely dispose of unwanted weapons.
