A police helicopter was deployed to track down a car amid 'concerns for the safety of a woman'.
Officers stopped the car on the M60 near Ashton-under-Lyne yesterday (Sunday) after a caller reported a potential kidnapping.
The caller said they believed they had spotted a man forcing a woman into the car on Cobblers Cross Lane in Tarporley, in Cheshire, police said.
Officers in police vehicles and the helicopter was deployed to track the vehicle.

It was stopped by GMP officers between junction 21 and 22 of the motorway.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said enquiries were carried out and the pair - who were known to each other - were spoken to.
The woman 'had not been held against her will', the spokesperson added in a statement.
The driver, a 47-year-old man from Tarporley, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.
He has now been released without charge.
In a tweet posted yesterday afternoon, GMP's traffic unit said: "Cheshire police received a report the occupant of this white vehicle was involved in a kidnapping.
"GMP #RPU #TPAC patrols successfully stopped the vehicle on the #M60 nr. #Ashton.
"Following enquiries, the driver has been #arrested by Cheshire officers on suspicion of assault."
