The family of the missing man, who also goes by the surname Payne and sometimes spells his first name as Shawn, have been informed of the discovery. He has been missing from Broxburn since Monday, August 3.
Formal identification is yet to take place and a post mortem will carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
