Plans to spend £13 million to expand and relocate a Tameside special school have been backed by town hall chiefs.
Members of the executive cabinet have agreed to move Hawthorns School to the Longdendale Playing Field site, in Mottram in Longdendale.
Hawthorns School is a primary age special school currently located on Lumb Lane in Audensaw, which caters for pupils with a range of ‘complex’ special educational needs.
