Piers Morgan has announced he is leaving his TalkTV show to focus on his Uncensored YouTube channel. The controversial TV presenter, who sparked fury earlier today with his alarming comments about Prince Harry, has decided he no longer wants "to create my show for linear television."
The former Good Morning Britain host confessed he has grown tired of creating a show in a TV-format when the majority of his viewers watch via different methods, the Mirror reports.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce the news this evening, Morgan told his followers: "Some personal news [ fire emoji]" as he shared a link to a journalist reporting the news.
The headline from Ben Smith reads: "News: Piers Morgan is ending his live broadcast show on UK's TalkTV, and going full YouTube. He talked to .me about it."
The 58-year-old, who claims he co-owns Piers Morgan Uncensored with News Corp, told Smith his recent debates about Israel's bombardment of Gaza felt rushed on his hour-long TV show.
He admitted: "I find myself thinking, ‘I wish we weren’t just doing a TV show here, because if we weren’t I would do this for two hours. That’s what the YouTube crowd love."
Morgan's move to YouTube means he will no longer be regulated by Ofcom, however the outspoken broadcaster insisted it wasn't what swayed his decision to go fully digital. While speaking with Smith, he claimed: "Despite being allegedly so controversial, I’ve never had an Ofcom ruling against me."
He then went on to boast about the fact he received the "most complaints in Ofcom history" when he questioned Meghan Markle's personal account of her experience with poor mental health on live TV. Pier's angry outburst on Good Morning Britain back in March 2021 brought in over 55,000
