Shocking pictures show the aftermath of an early morning fire at a Johnstone Chip Shop yesterday.
Firefighters raced to the town's High Street following reports of a blaze at Sandro's chip shop shortly before 6am.
It's understood a quick-thinking Good Samaritan spotted smoke coming from behind the building and called 999.
The photos show the charred walls of the building and completely melted bin and rubbish after the flames were extinguished.
A sign posted on the window of the chip shop reads: "Due to fire we will be closed until further notice."
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent to appliances to the building around 6.30am yesterday and remained on the scene for roughly one hour to tackle the flames.
A spokeswoman confirmed no one was injured in the fire, adding: "We received a call at 6.32am on Saturday, Febuary 26 reporting that a building was on fire in High Street, Johnstone.
"Two appliances attended and extinguished the fire an ensured the building was safe before leaving the scene.
"No injuries were reported."
