BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Brad Pitt, tux still on but tie gone and best supporting actor Academy Award stowed away somewhere, stepped out of a car with a few friends at the quiet back entrance to Vanity Fair's annual post-Oscars party.
Brad Pitt received his first Oscar as an actor at the 92nd Academy Award. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor was nominated for the Best Actor in Supporting Role at the Oscars 2020 and beat Al Pacino, Tom Hanks, Joe Pesci and Anthony Hopkins for the trophy.
Unlike many actors this year, Brad Pitt has mostly stayed away from political statements in his awards speeches (of which there have been quite a few), choosing instead to go with self-deprecating jokes. That all changed during Sunday night's Oscars when he took the stage to accept his trophy for Best Supporting Actor in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood — a role that's gotten him quite a lot of attention this year.
Tonight, Brad Pitt—man, myth, long-haired Hollywood legend—won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. In his speech, Pitt (who's had some practice with acceptance speeches this season, thanks to his wins at the Golden Globes, SAGs, and BAFTAs in the last few weeks) took the opportunity to make some jokes, thank the people he worked with, take some political jabs, and, in a touching moment, give a shoutout to his children.
