EXCLUSIVE: Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) has been set to star opposite Cate Blanchett in Rumours, a comedy from writer-directors Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson and Galen Johnson (The Green Fog), which Bleecker Street has snapped up for release in U.S. theaters this year.
Georgian filmmaker Elene Naveriani clinched the Best Feature Award in the main international competition of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival with her latest pic Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry. The award comes with a €16,000 cash prize.

The Georgian film, in which a stoically independent woman in her late 40s experiences a gentle existential awakening during an affair with a local deliveryman, also won the best actress prize for Ekaterine Chavleishvili’s performance.

TrustNordisk has sold Martin Skovbjerg’s psychological drama “Copenhagen Does Not Exist” to three European territories. The screenplay, based on the novel “Sander” by Terje Holtet Larsen, is written by Eskil Vogt, who was Oscar nominated with Joachim Trier for the original screenplay for “The Worst Person in the World.” “Copenhagen Does Not Exist” had its world premiere in January at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in its Big Screen Competition section. It has been sold to Cinemania Group for the former Yugoslavia, Filmin for Spain and September Film for Benelux.
