Neon — home of Oscar winner Parasite — said Tuesday it will release Matt Wolf’s Sundance Film Festival documentary Spaceship Earth on a multitude of platforms on May 8, including any cinemas that might remain open amid the coronavirus pandemic. “Neon has never released a film without the benefit of theaters and Spaceship Earth is no exception to that rule,” Neon founder and CEO Tom Quinn said Tuesday in a statement.

Parasite on Sunday was named best picture at the 2020 Oscars, picking up its fourthwin of the night. It is the first best picture win for indie distributor Neon, which was founded in 2017 by Tom Quinn.The film also received honors Sunday night for best director, best foreign film, and best screenplay.The category was introduced by Jane Fonda, who said, "Here are the films that made the greatest impact this year" as she presented the nominated films.
Tom Quinn’s Neon and streamer Hulu are looking to partner on a multimillion dollar, worldwide rights deal for Andy Samberg’s Sundance comedy “Palm Springs,” sources told Variety.
