Everything we know about The Time Traveler’s Wife TV adaptation
The Time Traveler’s Wife is coming back to our screens, this time in television form.WATCH BELOW: Euphoria | Season 2 Official TrailerWhile the 2009 film with Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana will always hold a special place in our hearts, the book the film is based on – Audrey Niffenegger’s 2003 novel of the same name – deserves more than one book-to-screen adaptation.Starring Rose Leslie, of Game of Thrones fame, and Theo James from the Divergent trilogy as Clare Abshire and Henry DeTamble, the series is expected to follow much the same plot of the book. While Clare and Henry are very much in love, a genetic disorder sees him involuntarily time travelling from time to time, to different times and aspects in his life. While this gives him greater insight into his relationship with Clare, and how it will eventually, and devastatingly end, Clare is left waiting for him for long periods of her life as she remains on the one, linear timeline."It’s a story of happy ever after – but not necessarily in that order.”The series will be written by Steven Moffatt, who knows his way around a mind-bending time-travel series, given he was instrumental to the creation of the Doctor Who re-boot.However, he has long been a fan of Audrey’s, and there seems to be something a little bit meant-to-be about his involvement in the series.“I read Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife many years ago, and I fell in love with it,” Steven has said of the novel.“In fact, I wrote a Doctor Who episode called ‘The Girl in the Fireplace’ as a direct response to it.“When, in her next novel, Audrey had a character watching that very episode, I realized she was probably on to me.
