Daniel Dae Kim will return to Broadway this fall in the Roundabout Theatre Company‘s production of David Henry Hwang’s comedy Yellow Face, to be directed by Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman (Violet).

Two theatrical heavyweights, Tyne Daly and Liev Schreiber, will try to put their own spin on the roles of a prickly nun and the reformist priest she fears may be doing the unthinkable. They are parts first portrayed on Broadway by Cherry Jones and Brían F. O’Byrne, she won a Tony and he was nominated, and later on screen by Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman, both picked up Oscar noms. The play won a Tony and a Pulitzer for John Patrick Shanley. This revival arrives courtesy of Roundabout Theatre Company and will be directed by Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis (“Tootsie,” “Take Me Out”). “Doubt: A Parable” will begin performances in February 2024 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. The remaining cast members and design team will be announced at a later date.

The guest list of about 80 people included Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Matt Damon and his family, Emily Mortimer, Ben Platt and his “Parade” co-star Micaela Diamond, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Bob Balaban and Lynn Grossman, Diane and Brian Sutherland, and Scott Ellis. The film’s composer Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who co-wrote three new songs for the movie, were also there.

With “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” wrapping up its fifth and final season, creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino have landed a two-season order for a new ballet drama at Prime Video, the streamer announced Wednesday.The New York City and Paris-set series, titled “Étoile,” centers on “the dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies, as they embark on an ambitious gambit to save their storied institutions by swapping their most talented stars,” according to the official logline.Sherman-Palladino and Palladino are set to write, direct, and executive produce while stars attached to the project include “The Marvelous Mrs.

Actor Bill Heck (Broadway’s Cabaret, Hulu’s The Old Man) will join the return Broadway engagement of Richard Greenberg’s Take Me Out co-starring Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jesse Williams.

"Take Me Out" is coming back to Broadway with "Modern Family" actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and former "Grey's Anatomy" star Jesse Williams both reprising their roles. The Tony award-winning play written by Richard Greenberg, directed by Scott Ellis and produced by Barry and Fran Weissler will be playing for 14 weeks at the Schoenfeld Theatre, beginning on October 27.  The play ran for a limited run this past spring and received four Tony nominations.The play is about Darren Lemming, a fictional baseball professional baseball player played by Williams who comes out as gay.

It also generated a lot of buzz for its ample on-stage nudity (that aspect led the show’s producers to require patrons to lock their phones in Yondr pouches to prevent photos from leaking online).Ferguson will return for the production, as will Jesse Williams, the “Grey’s Anatomy” star who won raves for his lead performance. “Take Me Out” will open its doors on Thursday, October 27 at the Schoenfeld Theatre.

For Colored Girls, Ntozake Shange’s brilliant work isn’t even just a play, but rather a series of monologues that also incorporate music and dance.The show is a modern-seeming musical of sorts, and it’s impressive that it still feels fresh and timely, as it was originally performed in New York in 1976.
