Nickelodeon’s ‘house of horrors’: Inside the abuse allegations aimed at Dan Schneider’s kids’ shows

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” premiering Sunday and Monday on Investigation Discovery.“Quiet on Set” rips the facade off writer-producer Schneider, now 58, and his enormously profitable but toxic juvenile show-business factory that churned out iconic hits such as “The Amanda Show,” “Zoey 101,” “Drake & Josh,” “Sam and Cat,” and “iCarly” — starring young actors like Jamie Lynn Spears, Jennette McCurdy, Miranda Cosgrove and Victoria Justice. The series reveals a nightmarish world in which at least three convicted sex offenders — production assistant Jason Handy, animator Ezel Channel and dialogue coach/actor Brian Peck — were on staff with full access to children. (All were convicted after they had been hired for the shows.) One female writer recalls on screen being told to lean over a desk and pretend she was being sodomized, among many egregious examples of the toxic workplace overseen by Schneider.

‘Bupkis’ Director Jason Orley Discusses How the X-Rated Opening Scene Was Inspired By ‘Happy Madison’ and ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’

Charna Flam “‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ and ‘Happy Madison’ have probably seeped their way into Pete Davidson’s head, and ‘Bupkis’ is what’s come out,” is how the show’s director, Jason Orley recently described the new Peacock comedy series to Variety. Written, produced and starring Davidson, “Bupkis” immerses audiences into a “surrealist” adaptation of Davidson’s life with the help of a star-studded call sheet, including Joe Pesci, Brad Garrett, John Mulaney, Sebastian Stan, Ray Romano and more. “Bupkis” opens with a caricature of the celebrity as he takes a moment to “unwind” in the basement of his family home. Davidson throws on a pair of VR goggles, presses play on an immersive pornographic video and in a moment of pleasure — and soon-to-be distress — his mother, played by Edie Falco, walks in as he reaches his climax.

Everybody Loves Raymond from 1996-2005 as well as films including Ice Age, The Big Sick and The Irishman, spoke about his health scare in a new interview on WTF with Marc Maron.Romano spoke about how he’d suffered for years with high cholesterol – something that led to a 90 per cent blockage in his main artery. He said: “I had high cholesterol 20 years ago and my guy always told me, ‘Why don’t we start going on the statin?’ Every time, I said, ‘Let me do it myself.'”Romano said he would go home and try to eat healthier to reverse the cholesterol himself, but admitted that it wasn’t successful – a pattern that lasted for 16 years. He said he “would go home and eat a little healthier and get it down a couple ticks”, but then his doctor would say: “It was 280 and now its 220 – you gotta get it down even more.”“But I’d go home and think I was hot shit – that was the cycle,” he continued. The actor said that he had to “have a stent put in” because he had “90 per cent blockage” in the artery deemed “the widow-maker”.“I got kind of lucky that we found it,” he continued, saying that he “would have gone on the meds” sooner had he realised how serious it was.Talking about getting older, he said: “Saying 50 was weird, but saying 60 sounds foreign, it sounds fake. In my head I don’t feel that old.
