There is simply so much good content out there — in fact, way too much — that picking Primetime Emmy nominees that deserve to win is a tough job indeed. If they have gotten this far, with this level of competition, then they have to be good. I have seen much of what voters have to sift through to fill out their ballots, and it becomes a Solomon’s choice in many instances, this — and every — year.

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to kick off Monday beginning at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET live on NBC and on the Peacock streaming service for the first time. The three-hour ceremony will take place at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles, and SNL veteran Kenan Thompson will host.

She will star opposite BAFTA and Primetime Emmy winner Jodie Comer in the London-set environmental crisis movie about a mother who with her newborn child tries to find a way home amid chaotic floods. Waterston we hear will play the character of ‘O’.

Heche, a Daytime Emmy winner and Primetime Emmy nominee, was plotting a return to the reality competition arena before her fiery car crash last week, which left her brain dead, sources tell Deadline.

After expressing his outrage over James Franco being cast as Fidel Castro in the independent feature drama Alina of Cuba, Primetime Emmy winner John Leguizamo has expounded on his stance regarding Hollywood casting non-Latinos in Latino roles. Specifically, in an Instagram post earlier today, he says “Alright, look, I got no problems with James Franco, yo, OK?” while explaining, “I grew up in a era where Latin people couldn’t play Latin people on film.”

Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks and Beau Flynn’s Flynn Pictures will produce.  Hiram Garcia, and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks are also producing.
