Nintendo should launch an “urgent independent investigation” into Joy-Con drift, an issue that reportedly affects 40 per cent of Nintendo Switch Classic owners.According to a study carried out by Which?, 40 per cent of Nintendo Switch Classic owners reported suffering from Joy-Con drift – an issue which causes the joysticks to “drift” without user input, causing characters in games to move in the wrong direction and other nuisances.

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time fan-developed PC port by Harbour Masters has been updated with a range of features, such as Linux compatibility, a save modifier, and 60FPS availability.The updates came by way of a humorous “Ship Of Harkinian Direct” (as Ship Of Harkinian is the name of the port), with the updates being accessible via the development team’s Discord server. Atlus player survey is asking questions about whether or not users want the Persona series to be brought to other devices like Xbox, Nintendo Switch, mobile and PC.The survey, which can be found here, is open to users until later today (May 15) and is being used by Atlus to help the company deliver “compelling gaming experiences” (via NintendoLife).Most of the questions ask what games players are currently aware of across the industry and what platforms they play on alongside their purchasing habits. Atlus then asks which Persona game was the user’s first experience with the franchise or whether they’ve played the series at all.The survey also asks what players think makes an Atlus title unique, from things like character designs to “music worth listening to” and an “interesting/deep story.”Atlus then asks what platforms players would like to play games from the Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei and Persona franchises on, with platforms like the PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and mobile devices all included.

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Alan Wake Remastered is getting a Nintendo Switch port that will run natively on the hardware, not via the Cloud.In a video released yesterday (May 12) to commemorate the 12-year anniversary of Alan Wake’s release, creative director Sam Lake announced the arrival of the port.The remastered version is slated for release this autumn (between September and November), with a specific date being announced closer to the game’s release. Alan Wake Remastered was previously released for Xbox, Playstation and PC last October.

Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has confirmed in a recent Japanese investor Q&A that the slightly controversial Nintendo Switch Online service would continue to expand its content offerings throughout the year.The Q&A was transcribed by VGC, where Furukawa states, “the total subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online has not been updated from the 32 million subscribers we disclosed last September, but it is gradually increasing as the sales of Nintendo Switches increases.”Furukawa continues; “of course, there are customers who allow their subscribership to expire, and then they don’t renew, so we believe it is important to continue releasing software that allows players to continue enjoying, not only online play, but also enhances their overall experience.” He concluded his statement by confirming “we will continue to expand our services and create new content for our customers throughout this year.”When questioned about more expansions and DLC being added, Nintendo’s president is reluctant to give a straight answer, claiming, “we will continue to consider the convenience for our customers as well as how well it would tie in with individual software. Dying Light 2 has finally received the update that introduces New Game Plus to the game, which has been shown off in a new trailer.The highly requested feature arrived in Dying Light 2 yesterday (April 27) as part of update 1.3.0, and with it comes a variety of changes and updates. “After finishing it once, the game can be replayed again, only this time with modified game parameters in place to encourage a second playthrough by the implementation of a unique system and experience,” explains the notes on the game’s Steam page.One of the big additions is 30 new inhibitors, a form of collectible that can increase your health and stamina, as well as extending your immunity with each upgrade.

Sega has confirmed that there are no plans for Sonic Origins to receive a physical release.Taking part in the latest official Sonic Livestream, Sega Of America’s social media manager, Katie Chrzanowski responded to a question about a physical release for Sonic Origins. “There isn’t one planned at the moment,” she said.“I have seen a lot of comments asking for one, so the team has been made aware of that, there is a want for a physical release,” she added.Sonic Mania was released digitally in 2017 to mark Sonic The Hedgehog’s 25th anniversary and was followed up by Sonic Mania Plus the following year.

Sega has announced that it will be delisting the digital versions of several original Sonic The Hedgehog games, ahead of their re-release as part of the Sonic Origins collection.Today (April 26), Sega has confirmed that every game set to feature in Sonic Origins will be removed from online storefronts on May 20.That includes Sonic The Hedgehog 1 and 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD.Sonic The Hedgehog 1 and 2 will still be playable via Sega Ages, and Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is currently available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Paradox Interactive has announced that the Shadowrun Trilogy will launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles this June.The Shadowrun Trilogy, which features Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun: Hong Kong, and Shadowrun: Dragonfall, was originally announced for Nintendo Switch last year, but Paradox has confirmed that the game will also be coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 21.The announcement trailer features the series’ single-player tactical gameplay and showcases different dialogue instances between NPCs, a party setup, and open-world environments.You can check out the announcement trailer below:The Shadowrun Trilogy contains the three cult classic RPGs (role-playing games), which take place in a dystopian cyberpunk future where magic has re-awakened and creatures of high fantasy roam the streets. Marvel’s Avengers has confirmed it will be adding Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor as part of its 2.5 update.The news follows on from the reveal that Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will seemingly be taking up the Mighty Thor mantle in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Thor: Love And Thunder.However, Crystal Dynamic has said that the movie has no impact on their latest updates. “Our Hero designs are driven first and foremost by their core comic book identities, so, as a fellow wielder of Mjolnir, her suite of abilities will have a lot in common with the Odinson’s, however she will also have elements that are distinctly Jane,” the studio said.

Nintendo has announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will now launch for Nintendo Switch on July 29, earlier than expected.Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was announced in February and was originally scheduled for a September launch, but it looks like Nintendo has decided to bring the release forward for unconfirmed reasons.A brand new trailer has also been revealed showcasing almost three minutes of gameplay, in-game cutscenes and story content. Sony and Nintendo will be making changes to how they approach renewals to their subscription-based offerings in the UK following a government-led investigation.New users to Nintendo Switch Online won’t have automatic renewal as the default option for the service, with users having to manually opt-in instead.As for Sony, the company will be contacting inactive Playstation Plus subscribers after an unspecified amount of time, informing them how to cancel the subscription.
