Brent Lang Executive Editor Fresh off the release of “Road House,” Amazon MGM Studios has closed a three-year, first-look film deal with Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nine Stories. Under the pact, Amazon MGM Studios will have first dibs on narrative features that the actor’s production company makes. The deal includes theatrical, as well as streaming releases.

Under the Nine Stories banner, she has produced films such as “The Guilty,” “Breaking News in Yuba County,” “The Devil All the Time,” “Joe Bell,” “Relic,” “Wildlife” and “Stronger.”Prior to Nine Stories, notable projects she produced include the Peabody award-winning “Beasts of No Nation” in 2015, and the Oscar-nominated “The Kids Are All Right” in 2010.

Jake Gyllenhaal has his next big role lined up!

Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal is set to produce and star in Oblivion Song, a film based on the acclaimed series of graphic novels by Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker’s Nine Stories production banner has signed a first-look deal with New Republic Pictures, the production and financing company run by Brian Oliver and Bradley Fischer. No details of the pact were given but the deal points to an amping up of activity for NRP as it follows a first-look deal signed in July with Cate Blanchett and her Dirty Films banner.
