Sophia Scorziello editor “This is historic — literally.” At least, that’s what a digital Michael Cera says at the start of the trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming sci-fi comedy series, “Command Z.” The “Ocean’s 11″-through-“13” director has rounded up Cera, Roy Wood Jr., Chloe Radcliffe and Liev Schreiber for a post-apocalyptic look back at the year 2023, as they traverse into the past by putting a wormhole in a washing machine. The new series follows Soderbergh’s recent Max noir series “Full Circle” on Max, starring Claire Danes and Zazie Beetz. “Command Z” is set to premiere July 17 and will be available on Soderbergh’s website, Extension765.com.

The Shrine Auditorum, located smack in the middle of the USC campus, was hosed down in colors of blush and bashful for the anticipated Warner Bros. release (as in, the security guards wore pink polo shirts), which drew the film’s stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.  One notable absence was Noah Baumbach, the film’s co-writer and Gerwig’s partner. “My co-writer and co-creator, my partner in love and art, Noah Baumbach is not here. He is passionately supporting the fight of the Writers Guild of America,” Gerwig said. “He is a Barbie girl. Nothing in ‘Barbie’ happened without him, and nothing in Hollywood happens without writers.”

Michael Cera‘s super bad old phone prevented him, albeit slightly, from forming an even stronger bond with the cast of Barbie. All good though. Cera says his character in the film would have probably kept a distance anyway.

Salma Hayek admitted she was reluctant about being a part of the "Black Mirror" cast.  In Season 6 of the dystopian, sci-fi drama series, Hayek said she was afraid the "disgusting" and "grotesque" scenes she acted in would be largely criticized by viewers.  "There are so many moments that shocked me in the script.There is one huge one that I had to come to terms with, and made me ask myself, ‘Do I really want to do this? Am I going to get in trouble?’" Hayek said during a cover story interview for Radio Times, according to the Independent.  The 56-year-old actress portrays a character on "Black Mirror" that is a non-famous version of herself who is shocked by a streaming platform’s launch of a new drama based on her life.  "It’s as if I created an alter ego where I could do the most disgusting, grotesque things that you would never do in real life… and have permission to do that." Despite Hayek’s fears that she would get in "trouble" for her "Black Mirror" role, she confessed she enjoyed working on the popular television series.  "It’s been absurd and a lot of fun. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play an interpretation of myself," Hayek added.
