It’s been two long years, but “Hacks” is finally back for a third season. The breakout Max series was originally intended to return in 2023, but health issues and multiple strikes pushed that back a year Now, two-time Emmy winner Jean Smart (she has five overall) and Emmy nominee Hannah Einbinder find their characters at a crossroads.

Despite HBO canceling the series and scrubbing it from its library, Jonathan Nolan still wants to finish the “Westworld” story. But does anybody else, even the show’s old fans, feel the same way? EW reports (via THR) that Nolan plans to make the ex-flagship series’ fifth and final season, even if HBO has moved on.

And the show also led to the arrest of its primary subject, Robert Durst, for first-degree murder the day before the premiere of its series finale.

It’s already been a banner 2024 for HBO and Max, with “True Detective: Night Country,” “Tokyo Vice” Season 2, and “The Regime” all scoring high with critics and audiences.

Expansion of Matt Reeves’ take on Batman and Gotham City finally begins later this year with the long-awaited “The Penguin.” A new Max series, “The Penguin,” centers on Colin Farrell’s Batman rogue Oz Cobb, aka Oswald Cobblepot, who takes his place within the criminal underworld following the death of mob boss Carmine Falcone (played by John Turturro in “The Batman”).

Though many critics thought another Batman reboot would be overkill, filmmaker Matt Reeves largely silenced early detractors with his moody and atmospheric “The Batman” (2022), which starred Robert Pattinson. As we eagerly await “The Batman—Part II,” Reeves willflesh out his vision for Gotham City with “The Batman” spinoff series “The Penguin.” Focusing on the crime villain Oswald Copplepot, aka The Penguin (played by Colin Farrell), the series is set in the aftermath of a power vacuum in the crime-ridden megalopolis of Gotham created by the death of crime boss Carmine Falcone (played by John Turturro in Reeves’ first film).

After the critical success of its first season, “House Of The Dragon” assured HBO that the “Game Of Thrones” brand would rebound after David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’ disastrous final season of the original show.

Sad news for “Our Flag Means Death” fans: it looks like the ex-Max series won’t find a new home after being canceled by the streamer in January. Deadline reports that series creator David Jenkins confirmed the show’s fate on Instagram, stating that despite many meetings with other outlets, its future is now dead in the water.

“I’ve been trying to maintain just being truthful on camera.” Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is a comedic force with three previous comedy specials on HBO. But it arguably wasn’t until 2022’s intimate, naked, and very vulnerable comedy special “Rothaniel” (directed by Bo Burnham), where he came out of the closet for the first time, that he truly left an unforgettable mark on the comedy special landscape (the New Yorker called it a “vital” stand-up experience).

In some ways, it’s been a pretty great 12 months for Ramy Youssef. Last spring he won his first Peabody Award as the co-creator and executive producer of Netflix‘s “Mo” and this winter he could be found on the big screen alongside Emma Stone in the global box office hit and Oscar-nominated “Poor Things.” As an Egyptian-American, however, he’s been vocal about his frustration with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and, it appears that may partially be the subject matter of his new HBO comedy special, “Ramy Youssef: More Feelings” which dropped its first trailer today.

More “Harry Potter” is coming from Warner Bros., as the studio revealed last Spring. But don’t expect it to reach Max for another couple of years.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav had a bunch of updates this morning about upcoming content on Max, including the next “Game Of Thrones” spinoff.

“True Detective: Night Country,” the fourth and critically acclaimed season of “True Detective,” written and directed by Mexican filmmaker Issa López, ended on Sunday night and became the most watched in the anthology’s history at HBO. According to THR, the show averaged 12.7 million viewers across all platforms since January.

In today’s episode of Bingeworthy, our TV and streaming podcast host Mike DeAngelo investigates Max’s hit series “Tokyo Vice.” Based on the book of the same name, the series follows the true story of reporter Jake Adelstein, the first American to join the staff of a prominent Japanese newspaper, The Yomiuri Shimbun, in Tokyo, Japan. He quickly gets wrapped up in a story of corruption & murder with the Yakuza and falls in with a local detective.

HBO has several highly anticipated titles premiering on its network and Max in 2024, with “True Detective: Night Country” and “Tokyo Vice” Season 2 already bowing. Kate Winslet in “The Regime” is the next big title to drop next month, but after that comes “The Sympathizer,” Park Chan-wook‘s latest foray into TV.

It was only a matter of time before Larry David hung up his comedic spikes. And sadly, that time is now: the upcoming season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will also be the final one of the HBO hit.

While filmmaker Michael Mann helped “Tokyo Vice” get on its feet and gave the show its cinematic grammar, the series was always the creation of writer/showrunner and Tony Award winner J.T. Rogers.

So when are HBO‘s biggest hits returning to the small screen? THR reports that network head Casey Bloys had some answers this morning at a press conference for HBO and Max‘s 2024 release calendars. The good news? “House Of The Dragon” returns for Season 2 in “early summer” 2024.

While MAX, formerly HBO Max, canceled quite a few shows last year, “Minx” being one of them, being picked up after the fact by Starz, other dramas with maybe not as much buzz but still a substantial audience keep on going unfettered. One of them is the MAX series “Julia,” starring Sarah Lancashire as famous TV chef and cooking personality Julia Childs.

Recent docs on Indigenous peoples in the United States emphasize the troubled, tragic legacy between Native Americans and the US government, like “Lakota Nation Vs. United States.” Others, like Showtime‘s “Murder In Big Horn,” chart ongoing issues like the murdered and missing indigenous women crisis and the media and government’s relative neglect to take it seriously.

Even if you haven’t seen one minute of “The Gilded Age,” you can probably guess the series’ vibe based on one name alone—Julian Fellowes. The man who gave the world “Downton Abbey” is the creator of “The Gilded Age,” and as such, he has created what appears to be the true successor to his massively popular British period drama.

Our Flag Means Death (★★★★☆). The pirate comedy from David Jenkins was quietly released on MAX last year with little fanfare but quickly caught attention as the tale of the show’s queerness spread.

The man who gave the world “Downton Abbey” is the creator of “The Gilded Age,” and as such, he has created what appears to be the true successor to his massively popular British period drama.

Super Soap Week is just around the corner and there's some huge plot twists in store on Emmerdale as the love triangle between Charity Dingle, Mackenzie Boyd and Chloe Harris comes to a head.The drama will kick off on Monday 9 October with a whole week of jam-packed episodes to follow. It's been revealed that Mack (Lawrence Boyd), Charity (Emma Atkins) and Chloe (Jessie Elland) will be involved in a car crash, after Chloe plans to drive them both to the middle of nowhere and leave them stranded but her plan backfires. After colliding with another vehicle, the trio regain consciousness to find Chloe's car teetering on a cliff edge.

“Our Flag Means Death” was a sleeper hit for Max on its series premiere last year. That makes Season 2 of the pirate comedy one of the most anticipated releases on TV this Fall.

“True Detective” fans will need to wait a little longer for the HBO show’s latest season. Deadline reports that HBO now has the fourth season of its crime anthology series dated for a January 2024 premiere date.

Kim Cattrall finally made her much-discussed return to the universe on Thursday's season 2 finale of. The 67-year-old actress, who previously said she was done playing Samantha Jones in the franchise, reprised her role as the beloved public relations specialist during the episode's first five minutes. In the scene, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) walks into her old apartment to prepare for her «Last Supper» meal when she receives a phone call from Sam, who is living her best PR boss lady life abroad in London.

House Of The Dragon Season 2 would be bringing back a very iconic location from Game Of Thrones. Based on the novel Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martine, HOTD takes place over a century before the events of GOT.

The Last Of Us Season 2 will not have another special episode for side characters like season one did. In season one we saw that episode three was completely about the characters Bill and Frank. This will not happen in the next season and it is good news for the main character, Ellie.

Thought HBO’s acclaimed basketball, rise-of-the-LA Lakers series, “Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty,” was a one-off? Oh no, the series, from writer/director Adam McKay, a huge hoop dreams nut, is back for more. Still, it cautions: it takes more than one NBA Championship to build a certified dynasty, which the Lakers obviously were for several years in the 1980s.

The Last Of Us Part 2, is a game that was released just three years ago. TLOU Part 2 was a game loved and hated by many, but overall it was accepted pretty well. With the release of HBO’s The Last Of Us, popularity for the franchise shot back up thanks to Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey’s amazing job as Joel and Ellie.

HBO’s The Last Of Us is gearing up for what could be a very successful awards season. This TV adaptation of Naughty Dog’s former Game Of The Year Award winner has been a huge hit and it’s really showing. TLOU could have a nice clean sweep in a wide range of categories.

Reneé Rapp is signing off from  The actress and Broadway star, who plays wealthy university student Leighton on the Max series, will leave as a series regular in the upcoming third season. Rapp, who reprises her role as Regina George from the musical in the forthcoming big-screen adaptation, will appear in «a handful of episodes» in a recurring capacity before exiting the series, a Max rep confirms to ET.Rapp addressed her exit with a note posted on her Instagram Story, where she expressed her excitement for the new season and credited the character for being a positive representation for the LGBTQ+ community." moved me out to LA and introduced me to some of my favorite people.
