Kendrick Lamar has revealed his burner account to the world by posting a selfie in a recent Instagram post.The Compton rapper is currently performing around the world on a festival tour, including a headline set at Primavera Sound Barcelona and The Governor’s Ball  in New York, and is set to headline Roskilde Festival at the end of the month.Yesterday (June 15), the Grammy Award-winning rapper uploaded a selfie and a video to the Insta account, @jojoruski. The burner account was always followed by Lamar’s official account, however, it was undiscoverable because it was private.

Memphis rapper Glorilla nearly meets him at a tie, clocking in with six recognitions as the 2022 winner of BET’s breakthrough hip-hop artist of the year. Among his nominations, Drake is up for best group alongside 21 Savage, best collaboration with Future and Tems for their radio favorite “Wait for U,” and album of the year for “Her Loss.” Glorilla competes with Drake in the best collaboration category twice — once for her feature with HItkidd (“F.N.F. Let’s Go”) and Cardi B (“Tomorrow 2”). The Memphis rapper is also up for album of the year for “Anyways, Life’s Great.”

Governors Ball 2023 have confirmed that the festival is still set to go ahead as scheduled, despite the unhealthy air quality in New York.This year’s instalment is set to take place at its new home of Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens this weekend (June 9-11), and will feature headline slots from Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, and Odesza.However, the future of the 2023 festival was thrown into question following the city experiencing an air quality crisis. Created by over 400 active wildfires taking place in Canada, vast stretches of smoke have spread across several states in the northeastern part of the country — with the air quality in New York described as “very unhealthy” by Mayor Eric Adams (via New York Times).As of yesterday (June 7), CBS reported that the haze conditions meant that the city had some of the worst pollution in the world, and residents were urged to limit their exposure to the outdoor air until the situation passes.Despite the conditions, organisers of Governors Ball have confirmed that the three-day festival is expected to go ahead as planned.“We’re closely monitoring the air quality with weather experts and are in close contact with city officials,” a statement from the festival read, shared on Twitter.

At this time, the festival is continuing as planned. We are hopeful that conditions will improve in the coming days and are looking forward to a great weekend!” The three-day music fest, often referred to as Gov Ball, is scheduled for June 9-11 at Flushing Meadows with headliners Lizzo, Odesza and Kendrick Lamar. Cage The Elephant frontman Matt Shultz has walked away with a no-jail plea deal after being arrested for illegal possession of two loaded guns in January.Shultz was arrested at the Bowery Hotel in Lower Manhattan on January 5, the day after an employee allegedly saw him carrying a handgun into the ground floor public toilets. The prosecutors claimed Shultz appeared to be intoxicated at the time and when the police arrived at his hotel room, they found two guns and a set of 11 Polaroid photos, some of which showed the firearm in question.Following the arrest, Shultz’s lawyer Sanford Talkin told a judge that the guns were purchased legally and registered to him, but not in New York.Now, The New York Post reports that Shultz pleaded guilty to three charges of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.A deal was struck that would mean Shultz would avoid jail should he abide by certain conditions.

The 22-year-old music extravaganza kicked off Europe’s festival season with its four-night bow in Barcelona this past weekend. Featuring multiple headliners – Blur, Halsey, Kendrick Lamar, Depeche Mode, New Order, Calvin Harris and Rosalia — on side-by-side interchanging stages, some 70,000 revelers attended daily, taking in the grounds of the city’s Parc del Forum and its myriad entertainment, activity and food options (including a full Primavera Pro conference track for industry attendees).  While at a map’s glance, it seemed as if acts on the smaller stages would drown each other out, the organizers choreographed the schedule so expertly that any conflicts didn’t feel insurmountable. It also helped that there were 317 acts to choose from, spread out over 10 stages and as many acres lining the city’s port. According to the fest, 193,000 attended Primavera’s three main days, with the largest crowd gathering for the final night where the main draw was Spain’s own Rosalia — evident from the scores of fans wearing red and black, the colors of her latest project, “Motomami.”

Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem have surprised their fans with ‘The Hillbillies’, a new drill-inspired song which samples Bon Iver – check out the track below.The single is the pair’s tenth collaboration together, following the Grammy-winning ‘Family Ties’, 2021’s ‘Range Brothers’ and ‘Vent’.Lamar and Keem released ‘The Hillbillies’, along with a music video, yesterday (May 30). The new song samples the 2020 Bon Iver track ‘PDLIF’, which itself samples Alabaster dePlume’s ‘Visit Croatia’.‘The Hillbillies’ features UK drill-style hi-hats and elements of Jersey club bass, showing off Lamar and Keem’s conversational rapping styles in the process: “Shorty say she celibate, I’ma keep hopin’ (she’s not) / Shorty say she in love with me, I’ma be open (I’ll try).”In the song’s accompanying video, the Californian rappers are seen outside and inside Dodger Stadium in LA, as well as boarding a private jet and going on a shopping spree in London.The clip also features a cameo from Tyler, The Creator, who flashes a button to the camera at one point that reads “Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival 2023” before then pointing at Dodger Stadium.

Tyler, The Creator‘s festival Camp Flog Gnaw has been on a pandemic-induced hiatus since 2019, though Tyler’s manager Christian Clancy said last year that 2023 would see the Camp’s return. News has been quiet since that October reveal.

Tyler, the Creator makes a cameo in the montage, flashing a Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 button in front of Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium — confirming the carnival’s long-awaited return. “The Hillbillies” samples Bon Iver’s “PDLIF” and is the latest joint effort from cousins Lamar and Keem, who previously worked together on tracks such as “N95,” “Die Hard,” “Range Brothers,” “Savior,” “Nile,” and the Grammy award-winning “Family Ties,” among others. According to Keem’s tweet announcing the collab, the single also makes reference to Drake’s “Sticky” off his 2022 album “Honestly, Nevermind.”

Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl will deliver a keynote conversation on the “value of music and the ever-evolving opportunities for songwriters, artists, and creators” in the context of streaming and artificial intelligence.
