K-pop agency JYP Entertainment announces plans to reduce environmental impact through digital-only album releases

JYP Entertainment, the agency behind K-pop acts TWICE, ITZY, Stray Kids and more, plans to begin releasing digital-only albums in an effort to reduce its environmental impact.This is according to the agency’s 2021 ESG (environmental, social, and governance) Report, released earlier this month. In it, JYP Entertainment says that the company is currently looking into reducing waste associated with physical album purchases by digitally distributing songs, behind-the-scenes content, lyric and photo books instead.Fans purchasing albums from the agency in the future will only receive physical photo cards while being granted access to all other included material through QR codes and NFCs.

Stray Kids have postponed two dates from the North American leg of their ongoing ‘Maniac’ tour after three members contracted COVID-19.Over the weekend on July 2, Live Nation announced on Twitter that the group’s Atlanta (July 3) and Fort Worth (July 6) shows have been postponed after three members of the boyband tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.“Lee Know, Felix and I.N received positive results on self-testing kits performed on July 2 (local time), thus immediately visited a hospital to receive PCR tests and were diagnosed with COVID-19,” wrote Live Nation. NMIXX have delivered a cover medley of hits by TWICE, ITZY, Wonder Girls and more in a brand-new live video.The seven-piece uploaded the new video to their official YouTube channel on May 19, as part of the group’s ongoing series of videos titled Pick NMIXX. For the cover, NMIXX are split into several rotating units for each cover, with the K-pop group taking on a total of eight songs by fellow JYP Entertainment girl groups.They include ITZY (‘Loco’), TWICE (‘The Feels’, ‘Like Ooh Aah’), 15& (Can’t Hide It), Miss A (‘Hush’, ‘Breathe’) and Wonder Girls (‘Why So Lonely’).
