The Witcher is coming to an end. The show announced today on X (aka Twitter) that Netflix has picked up a fifth season of the fantasy adaptation, which will be its last.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter “The Witcher” Season 4 has cast Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, and Danny Woodburn, Variety has learned exclusively. Copley will play the infamous bounty hunter Leo Bonhart from “The Witcher” novels. Purefoy will play Skellen, a high-ranking spy and court advisor to Emhyr who is also a prominent figure in the novels.

The Witcher has found its Regis. Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Laurence Fishburne is joining the upcoming fourth season of the Netflix series as the fan-favorite character from The Witcher books and games.

First introduced in “The Witcher” novel “Baptism of Fire,” the character is described as “a world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past who joins Geralt on his journey.” Fishburne is the latest new addition to the cast of the series’ fourth season.

The Witcher actor Joey Batey has revealed a plot point in season four that’s a “fan favourite” moment from the books.Batey returns as bard Jaskier in season three, part two of the Netflix show, which will be the last time fans get to see Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt Of Rivia.In a new interview with Metro, Batey referenced a significant detail from the books that he said he’s looking forward to portraying in the show.“I’m just glad that Jaskier’s still in it,” he joked, adding: “There’s a thing called the hanza, which I’m looking forward to exploring. It’s a bit of a fan-favourite moment I think.”In The Witcher books written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, Geralt’s company, or hanza, is a group of people that teams up to rescue Ciri.

The first five episodes of “The Witcher” Season 3 premiered on Netflix last month, beginning the send-off of Henry Cavill‘s Geralt of Rivia. But don’t worry, Geralt will return, albeit with Liam Hemsworth in the role.

The five-episode Volume 1 will release globally on June 29, with Volume 2 set for July 27. Along with Cavill, “The Witcher” stars Freya Allen as Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg. The Witcher season two soundtrack has been released.The track, titled ‘Power And Purpose’, is by Joseph Trapanese who has composed an original score for the Netflix series.

Netflix releases a wide variety of series, ranging from drama to comedy. Their dips into fantasy and science fiction have had some success, but little near the likes of a “Game of Thrones.” They do have a show in its second season that somewhat approaches that level.
