BBC “Newsnight” interview he did with journalist Emily Maitlis has inspired an upcoming miniseries, per Variety.The three-part event, titled “A Very Royal Scandal,” is currently in production in the United Kingdom and will star Michael Sheen as Andrew and Ruth Wilson as Maitlis.The official synopsis reveals that the show will chronicle “Emily Maitlis’ professional and personal journey as a Newsnight journalist, leading up to her acclaimed interview with Prince Andrew.”Joanna Scanlan, Alex Jennings and Éanna Hardwicke will also star in the series, which doesn’t have a release date yet.The episodes will be in the similar vein of Amazon’s “A Very English Scandal” (2018) and “A Very British Scandal” (2021). The “car crash” of an interview with Andrew, 63, and Maitlis, 53, was meant to discuss the former’s affiliation with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights to “Wicked Little Letters,” a stranger-than-fiction mystery comedy starring Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley. The movie, directed by “Me Before You” filmmaker Thea Sharrock, had its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. “Wicked Little Letters” will debut in theaters sometime in 2024.

Other stars lending their voices to the short include Rob Brydon (“Gavin and Stacey”), Cariad Lloyd (“Peep Show”), Joanna Scanlan (“The Thick of It”) and Susan Wokoma (“Enola Holmes”). “Superworm” directors Sarah Scrimgeour and Jac Hamman will helm the project, which was written by Max Lang and Suzanne Lang. Barney Goodland and Michael Rose of Magic Light Pictures will produce. BBC chief content office Charlotte Moore and BBC drama commissioning editor Nawfal Faizullah acquired the film for the BBC. The first episode of ITV's new series The Larkins hit screens on Sunday October 10, after many months of anticipation. The Larkins is a reboot of popular 90s show The Darling Buds of May, and tells the story of The Larkin family.

The Larkins brought some cosy viewing back to our Sunday nights last weekend.
