Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor Oscar-nominated sound mixer Steve Morrow has recorded quite a few party scenes in his career, in movies such as “Don’t Worry Darling,” “The Prom” and “Babylon.” When it came to Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” Morrow had to figure out how to capture the sound in a prominent party scene that takes place at the Bernstein family apartment in the Dakota Building in New York. It’s a key moment that transitions the film from black and white to 1970s color, anchored by Carey Mulligan’s Felicia smoking a cigarette, staring out the window at Central Park while a bustling party surrounds her. Morrow knew how the film would transition visually, but his team was tasked with capturing sound from both Felicia’s and Lenny’s (Cooper) circles.

He wanted to reflect everything through sound.

Their faces and a few limbs are sticking out of the ice, and their expressions are that of sheer terror. Ennis Police Department chief Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster), who has been investigating the disappearance of several researchers from the Tsalal Arctic Research Station, dubs the discovery a “corpsicle.” In Episode 2, the corpsicle is excavated and transferred to an ice rink.

Speaking with Variety over Zoom, the musician said although Vaughn sent him a demo track he still asked to see the film. “I have to see the film and have real context because I didn’t want to play blindly.” After seeing the film, his response was, “I was so overly sold.

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor plays Isabel as the film explores how caste systems have shaped societies.

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’s” infamous train scene was meant to take place aboard the Orient Express, as it roars through the Swiss Alps; which for production is a big request if you’re not shooting on location. “We scouted a few places and ended up in Norway,” says the film’s cinematographer Fraser Taggart who also worked on “Mission: Impossible – Fallout.” For practicality, Norway ended up being the perfect location. Not only did Taggart have a good relationship with Norway after “we filmed ‘Fallout’ there, the train scene and location needed to work with the motorcycle jump, but we found a railway in Norway from where we were going to shoot the motorcycle jump, and it all worked out.” In the film, Tom Cruise performed a stunt that has been billed as the most death-defying one of his acting career thus far.

The Ridley Scott epic follows Napoleon Bonaparte’s (Joaquin Phoenix) rise from general to emperor. Along the way, he meets and falls in love with Josephine (Vanessa Kirby).

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor The tiny details mattered in transforming Helen Mirren into “Golda.” In the film, Mirren plays the first female prime minister of Israel, Golda Meir, and follows her leadership during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Special effects makeup designer Karen Hartley Thomas did not want to turn Mirren into a caricature, so the less-is-more approach was the right way to go on this film. Four makeup artists spent two and a half hours applying a nose bridge, tip pieces and adding in teeth.

That meant staying nimble on shots while relying on a big visual effects team to create the look he wanted, according to ILM visual effects supervisor Jay Cooper. One of the biggest challenges for Cooper was the destroyer tank.

When it came to his next project, “32 Sounds,” the documentary feature shortlisted for Oscar, he set out tell a story specifically about sound and the aural experience. Green assemblies 32 different scenarios in an attempt to challenge how audiences think about sound.

In the retro movie, set in the early 1970s at the fictional prep school Barton Academy, Paul Giamatti’s grumpy teacher Paul Hunham is left to look after students who have no place to go over the Christmas break. Smith studied Hal Ashby’s “The Landlord” and “The Last Detail,” both released around that period, while creating the production design for “The Holdovers.” He observed everything in those films were stripped down, at least when it came to production design.

Most recently, Ames and Kobayashi delivered over 9,000 visual effects shots for Amazon Prime’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” In their new roles at DNEG, the pair will draw on over 50 years of combined industry experience to provide filmmaking, production, and technical expertise and advice, working directly with DNEG’s in-house teams to improve and advance its service offerings.

Written and directed by Andrew Haigh, the movie stars Andrew Scott as Adam, a gay screenwriter who lives alone. A chance encounter with Harry (Paul Mescal) leads to a relationship and triggers memories for Adam, who finds himself in a fantastical world when he visits his childhood home and sees his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) 30 years after they died in a car accident.
